I enjoy restoring old tools and this is my third old chisel restoration project. It is produced in Norway in a place called Kongsberg. Not exactly sure how old it is, but it is in bad shape. The worst part is definitely a wooden handle. It is broken and missing parts, so I will make a new one during the restoration.
To start with restoration I had first to disassemble the chisel. With a help of a table vice and big screwdriver I managed to separate chisel’s blade from the broken handle. Metal ring was loose, so it was easy to pull it out.

After disassembling I sanded the rust with a help of hand cranked grinder and sandpaper. At one moment I used a file for metal. I had to flatten the edges.
Than I made a wooden handle. Also, to be more interesting, I burned a hand drawn pattern on the handle. Finally, last step was to apply linseed oil to the wood. And there you have it.
