Hey, welcome to another great restoration! Today I am restoring destroyed old rubber hammer. In this restoration video I was hand sanding more than ever before. Was it worth it? Read till the end to see an amazing transformation!
Anyway, funny story for this hammer, I have purchased old double hand cranked grinder (coming soon for voting) and the guy asked me if I want this rubber hammer for free. He said it will through it in the garbage. Of course, I took it and here we are. I am restoring it. Is that cool or what?

Let’s dive in!
First thing to do was of course to disassemble the old rubber hammer. I didn’t have any trouble to separate the handle from hammer’s head. So, I grab sandpaper and sanded first the handle. After awhile I managed to get result shown below.
After that I used file to roughly remove rubber bumps on hammer’s head. To get smoother result I sanded with several different sandpaper grit. It took a while to get good result.
Finally I could focus again on handle and apply linseed oil. I did one coat. That seemed just fine to me. So, I continue with the restoration and start assembling it.
Assembling went smooth. It came beautiful. Really huge transformation after the restoration. Here is how it looks assembled!
Thank you a big time for reading this post!
