Today I will be doing tiny old knife restoration. Classic Mora knife, red handle, steel bolster and blade. What is special about this knife is it’s size. So far, I have never come across such a little Mora knife.

Anyway, I dismantle the knife, sand down the blade, bolster and the handle. Polished the blade and bolster afterwards and painted the handle in red. I assembled all together and I got myself a beautiful example of a restored tiny old knife…

Dismantling of this tiny old knife went really easy this time.
Dismantling went really easy this time.

Even though the blade looks fine, I had to sand it quite long and get rid of those chips along the cutting edge.I was cooling down the blade with water frequently while sanding and at the end became black.

The blade is sanded carefully. I have used 120/240/400 and 800 grit. After sanding I polished the blade and the bolster.

The knife's handle is sanded. I started first with 120 grit sandpaper, then 180 grit and finished with 240 grit sand paper.

Handle was in decent shape before sanding, so I didn’t have any trouble removing the old surface paint. Therefore after a short time I had a nice wooden surface to paint in red.

I made a small brass washer from an old rivet, since the old steel one broke. It came out great and I was happy to secure the tang with it. As a result I got this beautiful Erik Frosts Mora knife.

And here it is!

After the restoration, knife looks nice. Here is a good example of the size. It is really tiny.
